The works included civil and electro-mechanical installations for the construction of a laboratory building for Zadco on Sadiyat Island.
The structure of the building is based on isolated footings, ground tie beam and ground floor concrete columns supporting the roof section of the entire area. A separate gas section was constructed of asbestos sheets to make the area explosion-proof.
The laboratory was equipped with a gas services system consisting of low pressure gas; nitrogen; oxygen and compressed air. Manifold and gas cylinders were supplied outside the building to avoid explosions of cylinders.

The laboratory is centrally air-conditioned with 100 T/R AC plant, divided into three zones. The two water chillers were placed 20 metres away from the building and connected to the roof.
The water chillers and AHU are controlled by the motor centre board in the electrical room. Ventilation is accomplished by roof and wall extract fans.
The fire alarm system uses smoke detectors throughout. The system is separated into zones. Low and high pressure gases and extinguishers were supplied for fire fighting.
The plumbing system was composed of two separate systems. The first was for the laboratory works, and was a chemical and the second was for the laboratory technicians. A separate septic tank and soakaway pits were provided. UPVC pipes and all necessary fittings were provided to take away all water.
